Upenieki, Jelgava

Project aim: To develop a simplified ancillary building, a guest house, for an existing rural property, on the edge of the river. The building should be designed in an A-frame style, with a living area on the 1st level and a sleeping area on the 2nd level.

Work done: Several solutions were developed with different plans, in order to give the customer an understanding of the pros and cons of different constructions of the existing property. Site was an important guide for the house orientation.

Final result: A simple solution has been developed, where the final facades of the building are the main identity of the building. The glazed, open, facade faces the river, providing a great view in the living space, while the other facade is designed more closed, giving the opportunity to separate the guest house from the rest of the property.
